Founded in the late 2008, Modread was formed by 4 young individuals (Fami, Sapik, Jenk and Suki) during the Hot FM Twisties Bingit competition in December 2008. All of the 4 individuals were united with no knowledge on one another, based on the judges’ pick.

Modread won the Hot FM Twisties Bingit competition with their winning song, “Revolusi”. The song was on high rotation and placed top 20 on Hot FM 30 Charts. Performed in lots of events, shows and gigs since then had help Modread to build their name as one of the best new act in town.

After won the title of HotFm Twisties Bingit, their 2nd single “Pendrama” received a good response from the listeners and climbing through the charts in HotFm, FlyFm (#1 for 4 weeks in Campur Chart) and also XFm.

Modread's third single "Neeruza Ozawa" is the song which made their name known in the industry. The song which also featured the very first music video from this group successfully topped the charts in HotFm. This song is also nominated in the famous tv3’s music programme, Muzik-muzik.

Another song from Modread, their fourth single, "Cerita Sedih" was played on local radio stations, topping the music charts.

Modread recorded their own tv program with Twisties named “Modread Raya” year 2009 with Bunkface as the guest band. The program was shown on TV3 during Hari Raya season. Modread is also one of the selected artists to participate in TM's recent campaign, “Everyone Connect." alongside other successful and popular artists such as Bunkface, Tomok, Syhlla, Mila, Dafi and Akim.

Modread also has recorded two cover songs featuring Black Mentor; "Jerangkung Dalam Almari" by Wings, and "Kopi Dangdut" by Fahmi Sahab with their own music arrangements which give new and fresh vibes to the songs.

Modread released a promo compilation CD called “Modread’s Portfolio” which consist 5 hit songs from them and distribute it to all Malaysian Student at Germany and also United Kingdom in July 2010.

Fresh from Modread, their latest and fifth single, “Sinar Perangga" is currently played on local radio stations. This song is a promo single for their next album.

Modread has entered studio for their next album recording session (started from October 2010) independently. This album will be released on March 2012.
